While we continue to hear bad news about WIA's performance from the Administration, a closer examination of DOL’s own statistics indicates that over 2.75 million workers received assistance from WIA formula programs this past year.  When the 12.6 million workers who accessed Employment Services are also included, the overall total reaches well over 15 million workers receiving assistance from employment and training programs for this past year, more than one in ten workers nationally.

Attached please find a copy of the Department’s own chart showing the number of workers receiving assistance from WIA and ES programs over the last twelve months. This information is produced by DOL for the Appropriations Committees through statutorily mandated quarterly reports.
